I think the 80 mm size would make a nice portable scope (with an
appropriate mount, of course) plus a good "piggyback" scope for photos
and/or guiding of the main scope (10 inch LX200 in my case...)
This is exactly the intended uses of mine. I had a chance a few weeks ago to
push the power on it a little and got extrememly pleasing views at the highest
powers (using the Meade 6.3 UWA as well as the 4.7UWA that Starizona said I
would NEVER EVER use).
Multiple star images were so good I began to doubt the quality of the views
through my 10 SCT (Steve cured me of my MAK fever at 5MM)
Anyone who wants to view through it is welcome to come on over some evening
