I enjoyed the views last Saturday like everyone- both sky and scopes. -Got a real kick out of the bumble-bee scope guy! I made a mistake though, and didn't set up next to some enthusiastic folks like usual. So I ran out of gas just observing by myself. I think we all know that a star "party" can never be without some compromises (lights/smoke/foul language/bad cologne) that exist with any group activity. And I personally enjoy the social aspect. But perhaps we could turn an annoyance into a positive. As both a gesture of friendliness and helpfulness, a designated EVAC board member present or other member, could simply make "rounds" early in the evening, and greet each observing party, thanking them for coming out- asking if they have any questions about their equipment or what to observe for the night, and making sure they know about EVAC and the common courtesies needed for the evening. I'll bet people would appreciate the contact. What do you think... too touchy-feely, or good P-R for the club? Stan --- This message is from the AZ-Observing mailing list.
