[AZ-Observing] Re: Smoke from California fires

Yes indeed, at 8 pm the moon looked vaguely like it was undergoing an eclipse,
but the color was wrong. I didn't smell anything in
the night air, so the smoke must be mostly at altitude so far.

Let's hope the fires abate ASAP so the suffering and destruction can end.

Surely there must be a special place in Hell for the arsonist(s) who started
the fires. To me, they are no different than the 9-11
terrorists.

I wonder if anyone in law-enforcement is considering invoking the Patriot Act
if/when they find the skells who perped the arson(s)
(oooh, gotta love that NYPD Blue-speak). It is not a stretch to think of the
fires as a form of terrorism. Run 'em up on murder and
domestic terrorism, and give 'em the chair. High voltage! (Win a free zap on
the tongue with the 9-volt from my Astro flashlight if
you get the musical reference).
