Pretty close, Wayne.  The Shuttle is 122 feet long, and orbits at an
elevation of 350 miles.  So if it's straight up, it can be as large as 14
arcseconds.

That's why something still seems too good to be true about the sharpness of
that image of the Shuttle only published in The Sun (the tabloid, not the
actual sun),

That image gives a good idea of the size of the HST compared to the
Shuttle. What is the angular size of the shuttle at the height of the HST?
Looks like it might be on the order of 10arcsec.
