[AZ-Observing] Sentinel for December

Jeff, et al;

I thank you for the kind words about the Planet Mania flyer, it is too bad
that the weather that weekend was poor enough to keep most people home.
But, we don't seem to have had much luck with the weather recently. I
remember AJ and I having a conversation that we just can't remember the last
time that we had a complete weekend when the clouds stayed away for the
entire 48 hours of a New Moon weekend. Maybe next time.

Speaking of next time, let's try next New Moon at Sentinel. Maybe we can
get lucky. It is the weekend before Christmas, so I realize that some folks
will be out of town, but I do think that we will have a pretty good crowd if
the weather will allow.

So, pencil in Dec. 19 and 20 for a trip to Sentinel. We can hope for the
best. Besides, I think I left my little "hockey puck" tripod ends in the
dust at Sentinel, this will give me a chance to retrieve them. I am still
looking at the house, maybe I just stuffed them in a "new" place. Maybe I
was just trying to mark my territory, like a hound (Canis Major?).

Maybe this will give you a reason to open that Astronomy Christmas present
early, so you can try out that new goodie at Sentinel for New Moon in
December. If that works on your spouse, let me know, I may want to try it
on mine. Naw, it would never pass;). If I carefully open the wrapping,
took out the goodie to Sentinel, returned it to the box and acted surprised
on Christmas morning......no, I am not that good an actor. Nevermind.

I will bring the Planet Mania handouts to the SAC Holiday party for freebie
handouts, maybe someone would still like to try a few of the less obvious
planets for fun. Pluto is now exceptionally difficult.

It is Thanksgiving and I thank all of the great people in Arizona that I
have had a chance to share the stars with over the years, it has been a joy
to know you and enjoy your company, along with the Universe.

Clear Skies (please);
Steve Coe
