I just received an email saying that Saturn will transit M1, the Crab nebula, on January 5, 2003 UT. Megastar confirms, showing Saturn nearly centered in front of the Crab at 0:00 UT on January 5 of next year. Thought I'd pass it along as I don't recall this event being announced on the AZ-observing list.
