[AZ-Observing] Re: Saturday observing on the Mountain

Tom,
Harquahala Peak is definitely "chin-strap hat windy"
Jennifer

"We had a pretty fierce wind and electrical storm late last night, but only
got 0.11 inches of rain out of it. The wind managed to blow down the
surveyor's sighting signal. I was not surprised at all. I told the head
man that I thought he was not putting it up securely enough for the Harqua
Hala winds, but he thought he knew better."

from a letter dated July 17, 1922 to Charles Abbot from Alfred Moore
in Pieter Burggraaf's BLM book Harqua Hala Letters.
