            My readings were taken at arms length over my head and the 
temperature and humidity were from my little weather station.

(Correct me if I'm wrong)

The temp readings came from your weather station NOT from the SQM. The SQM
is a bit "liberal" with it's interpretation of temp. When the weather
station was displaying 39 degrees, Joe's SQM said it was 34 and mine said
31. Just a bit of variation. Noting Joe's SQM readings are "brighter" than
mine is either the manufacturer stated +/- or the fact that I was closer to
the tree line and or the head of my desk lamp sits inside the cone of the
sky the meter is reading or all of the above. (or Joe is just a brighter guy
than me (true!) :-)
