David, with the indication of clouds and thunderstorms for Happy Jack area
the plan has changed. The observing spot of choice is Antennas. Yes it
will be hot but skies will be clear. Plans for me at this time are to head
out tomorrow afternoon and hope to stay for two nights. Bringing an extra
gallon of water and will try to setup something for shade around vehicles.

I notice that dialogue on this subject seems to have stopped.
The Intellicast weather projection for the Happy Jack area is Thunderstorms
every day for the next 8 days.
CSC (Discovery Channel Observatory Site) is not that good for Tuesday
evening (night) either.
Lots of lots of rain = lots of and lots of mud. Hmmmmmmmm.
Does not look that good for a multi-nighter right now I am thinking.

Subject: [AZ-Observing] Post Memorial Day 5MM
I know it was a good idea for the annual 5MM trip to be scheduled in June,
but what about a 5MM trip just after Memorial Day? I'm figuring on Tuesday
the 26th and Wednesday the 27th. Moon set times are around 10:20pm Tuesday
and 11:00pm Wednesday. So, once the moon sets we have all night long for
observing. The summer Milky Way is up nicely around 11:00pm, hence that is
a possibility along with the spring time galaxies.
I see from an earlier e-mail posting by Steve Coe that he is interested in a
post Memorial Day trip. Also, at the last SAC meeting, Dick Harshaw
indicated he was ready to go.
So, what about it? Anyone else from SAC, or other astronomy clubs,
interested?
