I knew you would give us the scoop!  This one ought to be on the red star 
lists.      It is near the golden comet and makes a colorful contrast if you 
just swing the scope over to it.

     Close enough:  it's the carbon star HD 232820 = V466 Per = CGCS 541.
It was first reported as a carbon star by Espin in 1896 from 
visual spectroscope observations.  Coords are:  3 41 29.6 +51 30 12 (J2000).
Typically about mag 8.5 but somewhat variable.
