Actually, -3 & -1, Not as bright as they can get, but still worth the look.
My experience observing these is that the brighter ones don't last nearly as
long, so it may actually be a blessing in disguise. Easier to point them out
to the crowd b4 they wink out

Not many craters to be seen on a crescent, but you can get the "old moon in
the new moon's arms" and such. No, our Lunar observing List is not the same
as
the Astronomical League list. You should download their list if you want to
go
for the AL award.
Hope to see you Saturday at the Star Party. President Tejera tells me we
will
witness a couple bright, -7 and -8, Iridium flares. It may be cloudy during
the day but should clear by evening.

Hi Jack,
I just came in from working on your "Lunar Observing List" and enjoying the
view as well. I didn't happen to notice anyone in the "supply station"
waving, looking out the windows or what not (maybe they were in bed).
Back to the observing list. Is this list the same as and can be submitted to
the Astronomical League as well?

Beautiful scene of the crescent Moon, Venus and Aldebaran in the West. I
like
to imagine the Moon has a moon, or it's an orbiting Moon supply station to a
colony on the surface. Maybe some day.
Saturday, April 21 is Astronomy Day! SAC will host a Public Star Party at
T-Bird Park, see our website for details. Come on out and enjoy a night
under
the stars!
