I miss him as well, even the "disagreement discussions" {;o)
He was a member of the Valley Metal machinists club though it had been well
over a year since we last saw him at a meeting.

Hi,
I just now saw this message. I knew Gene was having trouble walking but I
didn't think he was terminal... I did ask him if he was ok but he did not
wish to relay any information regarding his health...
A truly brilliant guy. He will be missed - at least by me.
Thanks,
Howard

I received word today of the passing of Gene Lucas. Gene was a founding
member of SAC back in the late '70s. I spoke to his nephew, Joel Lucas
who told me Gene passed away on December 8th. Arrangements are not
finalized at this time. Joel said he would share those details with the
local astronomy community when they are known.
Rest in peace, Gene.
Michael
