Thanks Rick, great image. As a visual observer I really appreciate all the
work photographers such as yourself do to produce the images you kindly
share. These photos are a great help in my observing efforts. I can't
quite see all the detail you captured with the webcam but after studying an
excellent image like the one you just posted I can look harder and do manage
to see more tidbits every time we get decent seeing. Generally however the
seeing around here is pretty pathetic and I rarely am able to use more than
200x in my 5" refractor.
Speaking of great seeing I am tempted to move to Cebu City, Philippines :)
Take a look at what can be done with a webcam in 10/10 seeing with a C8:

If you scroll down to his 4/4/04 image you can actually see some detail on
Ganymede. Too bad we don't get some of that still air around here!
