[AZ-Observing] New Mexico Astronomical Development

Some EVAC folks might remember Bill Dellinges' newsletter article and
presentation about his New Mexico trip, in which he visited the guest
observatory NM Skies. Cloudcroft resident Andy Sauleitis is acting as
"Astronomy Consultant" for an astronomical development right across the
street from it named Star's End Estates. His Web page is at:

http://www.pvtnetworks.net/~iss/starend1.htm

There are 17 parcels ranging from 1 to 7 acres, and an acre runs $20K to
$25K. The astronomical presence around Cloudcroft, N.M. is already
unmatched in the country.

Andy's advertising photos are nothing if they are not honest. They show
light domes to the south from Las Cruces that are only visible due to the
cirrus clouds. The caption reads, "The lights below the horizon are from
NM Skies astronomy site," as if it is a major emitter of lights. I wonder
how long NM Skies will allow that caption to stand that way.

If I am placing the location correctly, the land will encompass Howard
Brewington's old property, from which he discovered four comets.
