[AZ-Observing] Mormon Mountain Star Stare: Final Announcement

This message is being blind copied to all who've registered for the star
party. If you've contacted me to register for this event but did not receive
the
CC, please let me know so I can add your name to the registration list.

===============

The Mormon Mountain Star Stare is just two days away. Hosted by the Coconino
Astronomical Society (CAS), the Star Stare will be held this weekend, May 30
to June 1, at Antelope Park. Antelope Park is a large open space between
Flagstaff and Mormon Lake, Arizona.

Registration is at 35. With an attendance limit of 50, we still have room for
you to join the party. Same day registration will be on site. There is no fee
to attend this star party.

There are a couple of questions which have come up, recently, that I'd like
to address to this list just in case others are wondering.

1. Will there be toilet facilities at the star party? Yes, we've arranged for
a porta-potty which will be delivered Friday afternoon.

2. Where will the telescopes be setup? There are a couple of options. My
guess is that most attendees will opt for setting up in the camping area. The
horizons are pretty good, and tents and vehicles can be parked conveniently
nearby. The other option is to setup in the meadow where the horizons are
excellent.
The only potential drawback is limited vehicle access. Vehicles are allowed
in the meadow to transport equipment but are not allowed to be parked for
extended periods, there.

Daytime highs are likely to be in the low-to-mid 80's with nighttime lows in
the mid-to-upper 40's. I've got a new canopy tent, which will provide a shady
place for a Saturday afternoon gathering. Also, I'm bringing a "disco sucks!"
T-shirt to burn in sacrifice to the weather gods :o)

Hope to see you at the Star Stare,

Bill Ferris
Vice President, CAS
