[AZ-Observing] Re: Monday evening at Flatiron, possible?

Don't know if I'd call this such a bad year re - telescope usage. I too
was down in the dumps over not going to Sentinel because of omnious
clouds. To keep busy I made a study the last three years of telescope
usage, which is how long I've had the 14.5", and discovered that about
2/3's of my 58 observing trips were done in the first six months of the
year.
Somewhat surprised at the 2/3's figure, so I made a similar reveiw for
the 8" covering the late 90's and late 80's and got about the same results.

After a little thought - it does wonders to stop and think about numbers
- I realized that the best observing weather is first half of the year.
Monsoons don't start until June or July and it's down hill f rom there.
So I guess the 2/3's figure sounds about reasonable.

Regardless of the numbers I'm still down in the dumps about telscope
usage - no matter how much there is it just ain't enough. Like some
other things in life(o;

Your star count may differ.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and have more observing trips in 2004.
