Beware the "clear-on-Friday/Saturday-nights effect". The tally for
cloudfree nights this year in Flagstaff is about average.

So far this year, the PHX weather office reports a deficit of
1.29 inches compared to the 1971-2000 normal; okay it's low but well
within the normal variation; last the at this time the deficit was
5.3 inches (of 8.02 normal). OK, not much rain in any case, but
as Claude Rains said to Bogart:

Bogart: I came here for the waters....

Rains: Waters?! What waters? This is the desert.

Bogart: I was misinformed.
