Below is a copy of a message I received as a member of Meade's 4M community.

Dear 4M Community Member:

As the CEO of Meade®, I would like to share with you some of the changes
that have occurred within Meade Instruments over the last 6 months. In
February of this year, I returned as CEO of Meade Instruments in order
to steer Meade back to its traditional goals of high quality
astronomical products featuring affordable advanced technology. I joined
the original management team of Meade in 1980 as Vice President of
Optics, served as President / Chief Operating Officer and as CEO from
June 2003 and left that position in May 2006. I bring with me a detailed
knowledge of our products and an appreciation for our loyal customers
that have supported our products and company over the past 36 years. I
would like to share with you some of the developments that have occurred
in 2009.

The year started with Design & Engineering Showcase Honors for our new
ETX-LS 6"-ACF at the 2009 International Consumer Electronics Show. This
exciting telescope is the first and only completely hands-off,
self-aligning telescope and comes complete with multimedia built-in.
Delivery to dealers began in May, and we look forward to meeting user
demand in the coming months.

During the month of February we moved the Irvine Headquarters to our
current location at 27 Hubble, Irvine, California. This new, more
efficient facility will allow us to better serve users and dealers alike.

The month of April saw a price reduction in our LX200®-ACF and LX90™
series telescope, along with the reintroduction of our premium Schmidt
Cassegrain Optical system as an option on the LX90 and ETX-LS 6"
telescopes. For those of you that demand the ultimate in optical
performance, you can still choose our unsurpassed Advanced Coma-Free™
optical system.

Meade is always working on new products. In the months to come, I look
forward to sharing with you exciting news about new products and
developments as they become available.

Clear Skys.

Regards,

Steve Murdock
CEO Meade Instruments Corp.
