[AZ-Observing] Mars Last Night

Mars was quite good from my back yard in NE Phoenix last night. Using a
4" refractor at 100, 154 and 190X (#8 yellow filter), Syrtis Major, Sinus
Sideaus and the polar caps were quite distinct. Other detail was indistinct
(some shading) and appeared and disappeared with the seeing. Observation
took place from about midnight to 2:15AM with Mars near
highest altitude.

Also, from the E-mail tip on sunspots, the sun is really active. I counted
better than 40 spots (including those in clusters separately) this morning.
I can't remember who sent the tip to the list (deleted after reading), but
thanks. It was a nice view.
