[AZ-Observing] Re: Marathon Weather

Actually, the CSC plots give a fairly accurate forcast of how the clouds and
moisture are moving into Arizona from California. If you compare the CSC
plots with the current 4 km IR animation from RAMSDIS
(_http://www.cira.colostate.edu/ramm/rmsdsol/menu.html_
(http://www.cira.colostate.edu/ramm/rmsdsol/menu.html) ), both show the
marathon site not nearly as socked in as Phoenix and
 northward.

Based on the IR animation, it looks like the observers were clouded out by
7:45 or 8 pm. If the system moves through quickly enough, those who were able
to get the evening toughies may still have a shot at all 110, depending on
how quickly the grunge of the SoCal coast moves inland.

Let's wish 'em luck.

I disagree that it is well-described by the CSC. Right now it is
completely socked over, has been for the past 2 hours or longer. The CSC
did not indicate it to this degree, but the CMC did. The CMC is better
than the CSC.
