[AZ-Observing] M51 Supernova from Backyard

M51 and its companion are just barely evident in the 10-inch from Tempe, but 
the supernova is visible.  It appears to be about a half magntude fainter than 
the star that we always see superposed nearby on a spiral arm.  That puts the 
supernova at magnitude 14 or so.  I had the best luck holding the supernova 
steady at magnifications greater than 250x.
