I have copied John Croft's messages to the Arizona Observing List.
Beautiful images, messages are too good to keep to ourselves !

Subject: [TAAA_Forum] Chandra image of NGC 4258

The Chandra home page has a very good report on a multi media study of
galaxy NGC 4258 or M106. By using data from Chandra, in X-ray and the
VLA, in Radio they reveal two additional spiral arms that are not
visible in visible or infrared light. When combined with DSS optical
image and Spitzer infrared image of NGC 4258 we get a much more
complete view of the galaxy. NGC 4258 is a spiral galaxy about 25
million light years from Earth, also known as M106.

Subject: [TAAA_Forum] HiRISE images

HiRISE continues to return spectacular images of the surface of Mars,
if nothing else they are great art but of course they are much more
than art. I am always interested in the water they find and the
evidence for possible past water. The image "Glacier-Like Flow on Arsia
Mons Flank" PSP_002922_1725 is a good example. The image and report can
be found at:

All of the past weeks images that have been released are at:

And the home page for HiRISE is at:
