Howdy all;
We had a chance to see showpieces in Dave Fredericksen's 32" f/4.7 at 5 =
mile
meadow. I was captivated by a variety of them, but it is still Spring, =
so I
thought I would post the observation of a galaxy:
M 101 Dave's 32" f/4.7 5 Mile Meadow S=3D7 T=3D9 great night
With the 35mm Panoptic at 170X the spiral structure is easy, there are =
three
sweeping spiral arms and all are very mottled. The NGC HII regions are =
easy
and have smoother sheen to them than the rest of the spiral arm. The =
core
is yellow and the arms are blue-white, you can see the difference =
between
Population I and Population II with your eyes. In moments of good =
seeing
you can follow the dark lanes between the spiral arms in near the core. =
A
great view of a great object.
Clear skies to us all;
Steve Coe
