[AZ-Observing] Lunar North region

Howdy;

Well, we had another clear evening in Arizona and I got very little sleep
again. These observations are with my 7 inch Maksutov in the backyard
observatory in Phoenix, Az. I rated the seeing at 6 out of 10, which allows me
to use magnifications from 175X to 330X.

Working my way north from Aristotle:

Sheepshanks is a small, but prominent crater, the walls rise up quite a bit.

C. Mayer has a quite prominent central peak with slumped walls.

Melton is a huge crater with walls that form a broken ring, it is not
immediately seen as a crater. The floor of this large ruined crated shows some
hummocks (sp) at 330X.

Nelson is also large, not nearly as large as Meton, but large. It has a very
smooth flow that is only broken by two small craterlets across the bottom.

Take Care;
Steve Coe
