Very small turnout. Just me, my father, my son and one other observer.
I observed mostly M objects with my 16" dob.
Saturn was quite a sight with it's thin dim rings.
M101 and M51 showed good structure. I observed some objects in Ursa Major,
Canes Venatici, Coma Berenices, Leo, and a few others. I did observe a few NGC
objects, including a couple of bright planetaries in Corvus and Draco. I made
sure to see NGC 5053, which I think of as the "ghost of M53".
I haven't been observing under dark sky in quite a while, so I mostly revisited
bright objects.
I did see a couple of things I hadn't seen before. I split Gamma Virgo, though
seeing was not great. I also observed Jupiter after sunrise. It was near enough
to the moon to make finding it possible. It was pretty easy in my 80mm finder
and nice in the big scope.
I also looked at the moon and venus after sunrise, but I've done that before.
