Flax, an engineering and graphics arts supply store located at about
12th Street and East Jefferson, should still carry sheets of various
colors of acetate sheet (sometimes referred to as theaterical gels), and
the 24 inch square sheets were pretty inexpensive. This stuff is pretty
tough, but can be cut easily. Look for "Ruby Red" color. Maybe other
arts supply stores carry the stuff, too, like Michaels....
Another option is to get a collapsible nylon glare hood for your laptop
screen, which basically restricts the angle over which the light shows.
These are made in various sizes, for motion picture camera viewfinders,
up to laptops and video monitors. The black nylon fabric glare sheilds
are made like those collapsible sun screens for your car windshield,
with a wire hoop frame. The company is called "Hood Man". I got one
at RTMC a couple of years ago for my laptop, but it wasn't cheap!
