[AZ-Observing] Re: I promise to listen to AJ from now on

I'm  going to preserve Steve's message;o) for a long, long time!

Anyways the one night of observing was a lot of fun, not to cold and clear - 
for a change.

In addition to observing what has already been discussed, my challenge object 
was Palomar 2.  It was never on the list for my 8 inch, but added it to the 
14.5 inch list after a recent discussion on this list (or was it amastro?).  
Friday night was the first time for a chance to observe the distant faint 
globular cluster and, as an aid to finding, I had a finder
chart printed out from Guide 8.  No to worry, Sky Commander immediately put me 
in the field and the position was quickly determined.  After going to 140X 
there was this round, small faint glow that was easily seen, along with a 
easily seen 12th mag star.  It was slightly brighter with averted vision.  
Guide also lists this object as part of PCG15936.

A little before retiring, Steve Coe and I shared a view of NGC2477 in Puppis.  
This is a rich, bright and compressed open cluster.  If you get a chance to 
observe in Puppis, don't over look this gem!

P.S. - just wait until Steve shows up, I don't show up and the skies are 
severly clear!  Me thinks I shouldn't keep Steve's message after all;o))
