Frank complained:
>> I thought the bet was on the last clear day...
To the extent that this matters, if I haven't misinterpreted Frank:
the interesting thing was the unbroken clear streak, so the idea was to guess
when that would end, not (for instance) the last clear day before the monsoon
arrives for good. Jack Jones is correct: last night (24th) was a workable
"spectroscopic" night here, so on the pretty-good assumption that tonight will
be certifiably cloudy, that was the last of it in terms of the sorta-almost
continuous clear streak. (Tom guessed June 25, which was closest of the dates
I received.) By my reckoning the last clear night of the string was June 17th,
though three more clear ones came along late last week. We'll probably get
patchy weather as things shift slowly around to the summer pattern in the
coming weeks, and the monsoon intrudes and recedes a couple of times. Even
once would be nice.
