Sunday 2100 hrs:
Seeing a large shadow on the floor of Hipparchus and Albategnius split into
three sections near the terminator in the 20x80 binocs, I checked with the
6" to see what was going on there. The shadow is a large dark area of
unevenness on the floor, but is not as noticeable in the scope. To the south
near prominent craters Werner and Aliacensus is large bright white X just
into the dark side, making an X O O pattern with the two craters. I believe
this is the intersection of the high walls of Purbach and Regiomontanus just
coming into sunlight. Beautifully strange.
