Observing the 2nd H400 object by any means would be an accomplishment. I have looked at/for several with a 14" Dob (at and for in about equal numbers) and the galaxies, at least, ARE FAINT. Ego and other such nonsense aside, the purpose of the MM is to have fun. As Steve Coe once said to me when I ran into him at the Astronomy Shoppe: "If you make it a job, it ain't fun anymore."
