[AZ-Observing] Happy Jack on Friday night report

Well;

Tonight looks even worse than last night. I set up at Five Mile Meadow near
Happy Jack, tested the GOTO system, got collimated and actually observed 6
objects before the storm started to look really ominous. Once I was tearing
down the Nexstar 11, the lightening got brighter and brighter. This is
motivational when disassembling your scope!

So, I got the scope in the back of the Subaru by about 11:30 PM and observed
what was left of the sky with binoculars for a while. Once the rain started
to fall, I decided to come on down to Cherry Road to see if that part of the
state was less stormy. I got to Cherry Road by 1 AM and it was very cloudy
and looked like more moving in. I was sleepy by this time so I got a pillow
and took a nap in the driver's seat.

There was a beautiful conjunction of the thin crescent Moon and Saturn last
night and I was hoping for a view of this "sky pretty". But, that was not
to be, when I awoke at 4 AM the sky was completely clouded out. So, I drove
on down the hill. When I entered the house at 5:15 AM, I almost gave my
wife a heart attack, but other than that, all went well. Such is the life
of an astronomer in the middle of the Arizona Monsoons.

What cha' gonna do;
