[AZ-Observing] Great skies at Vekol this past Saturday

In the afternoon I had decided not to go to Vekol, but a look at the
skies from my house about a a half an hour before sunset changed my
mind. I got to Vekol under clear skies and a very slight breeze an hour
after sunset and found two other people there (George and Jim).

The sky stayed clear and mostly steady the rest of the evening, at least
until after moonrise. I spent a lot of time observing at 360x while
searching for outer planets and their moons. I did get to see Pluto,
Neptune with Triton, Uranus with Titania and Oberon and after moonrise,
very low in the sky Saturn with Titan. Deep sky objects included
NGC891 of which I was able to detect some hint of the dark lane, M8
(Lagoon), M20 (Trifid), NGC7293 (Helix), M27 (Dumbbell), M57 (Ring),
Epsilon Lyra, which split very nicely, M34, M15 which looked stunning
and almost resolved right through the core, M31 (Andromeda), M32,
NGC205, M33 (Pinwheel), NGC869/884 (Double Cluster) with pinpoint stars,
and at moonrise and beautiful telescopic view of the moon gliding
through horizontal slots in the low clouds at the horizon.

Most of the observing I shared with my wife Susan and some with my son
Jacob. It's sad that more people didn't come out to observe, although I
was almost one of them.
