[AZ-Observing] Re: Flatiron for Sat. night

I will have my "new" early 70s Edmund 4.25" f10 "Palomar Jr."
reflector to fight the large goto scopes so perhaps there will
be some balance (the yin-yang thing) and the Astro Gods will
smile on us.

You gotta love Astromart. Only through such a service can Steve
raise the funds for a C11 and I re-purchase a really nice example
of my first scope complete with two EPs (a 20mm Kellner and a
1/2" fl (!) Ramsden) and "variable" Barlow. With the few items
I still have, my new scope is absolutely complete, out-of-the-box,
including the "How to Use Your Telescope" book and "shower cap"
OTA end covers. I am 12 years-old again (or is this always been
my problem?)!

Big, auto scopes? Pah, who needs them!

Well, its back to the workshop for this semi-retired gent. My
14.25" f7 Autostar controlled "Palomar Jr. II" won't finish itself!

Matt

Howdy all;

I am making a trip to Tucson tomorrow to buy a Celestron Nexstar 11 GPS.
So, I am planning to travel to Flatiron on Saturday night to set it up
and observe with it. Seeing as how both Dave Fredericksen and I will
have new scopes on that night, I assume that the cloud cover will be
complete, it will probably hail.....but, come anyway, we can at least
TALK about using a telescope.

Hoping for the best;
Steve
