I know that Flatiron isn?t exactly a popular observing site this time of year,
but I?ve been there on occasional summer nights as I?m sure many have.
A meth lab was discovered just a few miles south of our Flatiron site. The lab
was set up under a large tree about a half mile off the road and had apparently
been there for some time when it was discovered by an MCSO Deputy who I know
personally. Deputies had since visited by the site periodically in hopes of
catching the cook.
There was another surprise visit on Saturday and the meth site with all the
jars coolers and chemicals had been completely removed. I would doubt Mr. Meth
Cook has just given up on his business but more likely he?s moved, and probably
not too far.
This isn?t intended to scare any observers away, but I just thought you all
should be aware.
Be safe?
Chuck
