[AZ-Observing] Re: Fantastic Saturday at Vekol

Joe,
I observed these two last January at Sentinel after Jack Jones pointed them
out to me. I agree with your desription as being good candidates for a Southern
M81/M82. I saw 1808 as larger and more diffuse than it's neighbor and my
drawing shows a dark streak from the centerout to one edge, Don't know if it
was
the cold making my hand skip on the paper or the fact that I'm still realtivley
new to sketching, but my notes don't mention this feature. Although smaller I
saw more detail in 1792. I think separtely, these would be run of the mill
observations, but in the same eyepiece they make the trip worth the effort.

As for the darkness & transparancy being good last night, I'll take credit
for that. I've been trying to get out at least in the backyard all week to let
the moistons out of my new eyepieces and since I was at the Coyotes game last
night I figured anyone else venturing out would be in for a good night :)
