I was thinking of going out to the AAMM site Friday night to attempt to
capture a green laser pointer beam on an astrophoto. My plan was to use a large
object - easy to spot naked eye with the laser, say, M45 then do a series of
photos at beam durations of 1, 15 and 30 seconds with a wide field view through
a 90mm refractor and a narrow field with my 10 inch LX200 using a f6.3 focal
reducer.
By doing this on Friday I hope to not bother anyone during the marathon. If
anyone else is planning to do some serious astrophotography Friday night let
me know and maybe we can work out a way to avoid messing up 2 sets of photos.
Or I could postpone it for another time. If anyone is interested in joining
me that would be great also. Let me know what you all think. Jeff
