Just wondering on this subject. If I counted the number of stars in a
globular cluster that were resolved at the same magnification from night to
night, would that also be a good test of seeing? Any of the big Messier's
might be too much to do consistently, but how about M 71 or M 56, where the
Nexstar 11 would resolve 5 stars or so in poor seeing and 10 to 20 on better
nights. Would variable stars in the clusters make that method invalid?
