I played hookey from work, leaving about 30-minutes early to come home for
egress. The eave of my house blocked the Moon until about 16:45 local (MST)
time. I shot about 15 exposures on a roll of ISO 400 print film with the last
six definitely showing Saturn emerging along the bright limb. Now, if only I
had the focus accurately set and the periods of calm wind really were
calm... Whatever the case, I get the prints back Thursday after 5:00pm. Wish
me luck.
Oh, BTW, I was shooting negative projection through my 10-inch, f/4.5
Newtonian. The 2x Barlow between the primary and my Nikon F3 converted the
scope to a 2274-mm, f/9 telephoto. I shot the Moon on auto with 1/250-second
exposures and then bracketed exposures manually, rotating through 1/60, 1/125
and 1/250.
