[AZ-Observing] Clear Skies--hooray

Hello all;
Well, we had some truly clear skies and I took advantage of them. From
Wednesday to Sunday I was high in the Arizona Central Mountains in the area
near the Mogollon Rim. I will post some observations later, but I know that
the gang at the Grand Canyon Star Party must also have had a terrific viewing
session. Skies were perfectly clear for most of all four nights and the few
clouds that drifted in were minimal.

I my opinion Saturday night was the best and I rated the transparency at 9 out
of 10. The Milky Way from a site that is 100 miles from Phoenix was bright,
contrasty, wide and sliced to pieces by dark nebulosity. Several of the very
low brightness sections of the Milky Way glow that extent into Ophiuchus were
seen pretty easily with the naked eye. All in all, a great time was had by
all. I hope the same is true for you.

Take care;
Steve Coe
