The road is dirt, but no problem without 4x4 (I have a regular pickup).
Here is a map of the area:

Look for the point marked 8333. Notice the major drop-off to the east!
There is also a campground marked further SW nearby on the map that might
be worth checking out to see if there are any good clearings.
