[AZ-Observing] Cherry on Saturday....

Hey all,
Well, after a day of anxiety, and to Dwight's prediction, the clouds parted and
the drive to Cherry Rd was made. Chuck and I arrived just after sunset, while
the thin cresent moon hung low in the west. Shortly after our arrival, Matt
Luttinen and Lynn Blackburn joined all of us, making a total of 7 cars, and a
total of 10 observers. The night didn't set any records, but certainly was
good enough to relax and enjoy the starshine we all so desperately craved. I
worked a bit on some Cepheus Hershels, the highlight being the lone H400
galaxy, whose name escapes me in my foggy condition. At one time, we had a
14",15", 16", and 17.5" scope on this object, comparing it back and forth.
Between object/telescope comparisons, light political conversation, and general
star bathing, it turned out to be a worthwhile drive up the hill. I hope that
many others made it to the various sites to enjoy the scarce clear skies this
time of year.

Thad
