i was determined to make it but as some of you that were camped by me
last week, i had a focuser problem.  i finally realized what
happened.  i left my scope out in the sun a few weeks back, but i did
have the solar cover on it.  however, the temp was well over 100 for a
few days, and i think i literally cooked the metal coating off of the
roller bearings on my JMI mini-3 ngf focuser.

alas, i had to order a new focuser and don't have a spare at the
moment.
