[AZ-Observing] Re: Cherry Rd Sat 6-16

We should expect some beginner mistakes and ignorance due to being at a club
star party and having members of all ranges of experience in attendance.
However, this episode was a rather blatant showing of complete ignorance.  I
also heard them say they were packing up, and initially thought they were
joking.  It may have been prudent to ask them if they wanted to be led out
of the field at that time or there should possibly be a designated
leader-outer at club parties.  It seems the larger the group, the greater
the odds white light will occur. Also it seems the earlier someone leaves,
the greater the odds they will show white light.  When they started their
motor I looked over. Big mistake. An abrupt engine start-up should be a clue
to duck for cover!

without the standard "white light" warning, please remind/inform them of
traditional "Star Party Etiquitte"   This move set most of us back a good
15-20 minutes until we could get re-dark adapted.  Incidentially, this same
group left the only trash that I've ever seen an astronomer(s) leave behind
at one of our treasured dark sky sites.  They seemed "astro-savvy" enough,
but definately uninitiated to group
