[AZ-Observing] Re: Cherry Rd -Friday Night

Jimmy,

I'm with you. While everyone can decide whether they want to carry
protection or not, the world is dangerous and if you are alone in a
remote area, you could easily be at the mercy of a bad situation.

I prefer to be in a situation where I am able to make the situation
better for me. Even when I go to my Spruce Mountain Observatory I
always carry protection. I have never had to use it and may never,
but it only takes one time and then it may be too late. There are bad
people out there and that is why the Forest Service is armed. It may
be wise to take a hint from them.

For those who may have concerns, remember you can legally carry a
sidearm openly with no required conceal carry permit. You should
learn firearm fundamentals and safety practices before getting into
that, however. This is serious business. Many times situations are
defused immediately when the other person sees that you are armed.
It's like carrying a big sign saying "Don't Even Think About It!"
