22 years ago I would go out alone without ever feeling I might ever run
into a problem. However, times are different. I would not feel as safe
now, with all the drug runners, coyotes (those transporting illegal
immigrants), gangs, satanists (maybe far fetched, but it seems to be
more of a concern now than before), etc. For example, a few years ago I
camped out at an area near Patagonia. During the night I woke up inside
my van to see the flash of some kind of light against my blocked off
windows. The next morning at breakfast I found out that area is not safe
to be alone in because there is a lot of illegal activity of the kind I
just mentioned. I think now-a-days it is a good idea to have an
equalizer when out alone. However, if there are any gangs out to capture
potential sex slaves I am home free. I am too old and the wrong sex for
this <g>.
