Subject: [AZ-Observing] Re: Burnham's Celestial Handbook
I have enjoyed reading this set, ever since I purchased a copy of the
first hole-punched and spiral-bound volume directly from Robert Burnham
(1966). It has filled many pleasant hours. I usually reach for it
whenever I want to check on some celestial object. As AJ indicates,
some of the technical "astrophysics" entries are now outdated, but still
useful, as more modern research has superseded the information. But
Burnham did an outstanding job of summarizing an amazing amount of
material, both in the science and philosophical areas. There is really
nothing to compare it against.
