Barn Door will work, also if you have a motorized mount on your scope, most can
be fitted with an adapter to allow piggybacking on your scope using the 1/4 20
thread hole in the base of your camera.
I personally use piggybacking on my 8" SCT.
The practical limit is star trailing and noise from the camera. This is a
function of the time and the magnification of the lens. With a digitial camera
you have the ablity to stack several images to improve S/N ratio and avoid
trailing.
