There is an astronomy related exhibit at the Phoenix Art Museum on Central &
McDowell through July 27th called BIGGER THAN US the works of Russell Crotty
& Kelly McLane. Using ball point pen, Russell sketches his observations
onto the pages of humongous observing books; and he also makes these kinds
of globes with the horizon extending up from the S. Pole with the sky on the
rest. Great works --difficult to explain.
Russell also usually attends the RTMC and will be there this year walking
around with a video camera to tape some of the conference to maybe show at
his opening at the Houston Contemporary Art Museum--he sets up near the
vendors and the domes.
The museum is open 10-5 Tues--Sun and until 9p.m. on Thursdays. Admission
is $7 and is free on Thursdays.
