Ohhhh, a project I can do in the backyard! Did some research, and found
that the star is TYC0006-00219-1
at 00 29 21.5, +04 14 14.04 in Pisces. The star is mag. 11.6, and the
asteroid, (444) Gyptis is 10.6. May be a bit anti-climatic given the
asteriod is brighter than the star, but I'm opening the roof anyhow. The
most current times for the actual occultation are between 8:57:27 and
8:57:54. I think that the path map I saw was a bit more current than Joe's,
and it shows a westward shift that includes the Phx area.
And don't forget that mag 3.3 Theta Oph is getting covered by the moon
tonight around 8:21.
I may not recover for weeks after this much excitement!! :-P
Thanks to Joe for bringing it up......
Thad
