[AZ-Observing] Re: Arizona weather

Yes, I recall that.  It was the year we moved here from Green Bay.  We
arrived after sunset in August, and the temp was still over 100.  We saw
"rivers" that were dry beds, then later 500 year torrents.  Next, Bob Crane
got murdered in Scottsdale, not far from where we lived at the time.  I
started asking myself "What kind of place is this?"   A few weeks later I
attended a PAS meeting at Keith Parizek's old house on Mescal (the house was
on Mescal, not me) and saw my first private observatory and many cool scopes
of non-Newtonian design (my only previous experience).  At that point I
decided this was going to be an ok place to live.
